Adirondack Health is seeking a Lead Pre-Service Authorization Specialist to oversee the Patient Access functions related to securing pre-service authorizations. The role involves training staff, developing procedural documentation, and improving patient flow and service quality.

Responsibilities

Primary leader of Patient Access functions related to securing pre-service authorizations for selected procedures in an accurate, efficient, professional, and timely manner

Participates in training and retraining of Pre-service authorization Specialist(s)

Develop training manuals, written desk procedures, and written procedures to support policies for pre-service authorizations

Assists with the development and implementation of systems and processes to improve patient flow and quality of patient services

Perform all assigned duties in accordance with established policies and procedures of AH, as well as regulations and organizations including but not limited to HIPAA, CMS, TJC, AOA and EMTALA
