Intellectual Property Paralegal
Scion Staffing is a national award-winning staffing firm seeking an experienced Intellectual Property Paralegal to support attorneys with U.S. patent prosecution matters. The role involves managing patent lifecycles, drafting correspondence, and maintaining client dockets in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Draft correspondence, memos, letters, and other documents for attorneys and IP team members
Prepare and file U.S. patent applications, office action responses, and other USPTO documents
Manage attorney and client dockets and coordinate filings
Interface with clients regarding filings, updates, and document submissions
Perform administrative tasks including time entry, expense reports, travel arrangements, and calendar management
Review, docket, and route incoming mail and correspondence using docketing software
Qualification
Required
Familiarity with USPTO procedures, U.S. and PCT patent rules, and patent lifecycle management
Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
Experience using docketing software (e.g., Foundation IP) and Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to work proactively and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable learning new systems or IP-specific applications as needed
