The role involves data-heavy accounting work, including uploading and reconciling financial data, validating accuracy across systems, and building Excel-based templates to support performance and reporting metrics.

Responsibilities
Upload financial data from Excel into accounting systems for 35+ private equity funds
Reconcile accounting data across multiple sources (Excel files, accounting platforms, bank data)
Identify and resolve discrepancies between systems and source documents
Build and maintain Excel templates for:
Performance metrics
Financial reconciliations between systems
Data validation and roll-forwards
Perform data manipulation, and clean-up work as needed (rebook journal entries using different GL codes or break out into more granular data, adjust errors as needed)
Download reports from accounting systems and validate accuracy against source files
Collaborate with internal finance team to ensure consistent data structure and reporting
Qualification
Required
5-10+ years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping
Strong working knowledge of general accounting principles
Advanced Excel proficiency, including: VLOOKUP / XLOOKUP, Pivot tables, Data manipulation and reconciliation
Experience setting up and managing data reconciliations
Comfort working inside accounting systems, including: Uploading and downloading data, Troubleshooting system-to-Excel mismatches
Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
Ability to work independently and manage deadlines in a project-based environment
Must be local to San Antonio
Onsite work required (North side near Hwy 281)
This is not a remote position
Preferred
Experience working with private equity, funds, or investment entities
Familiarity with fund accounting or performance reporting
Experience working with large datasets or multi-entity structures
