Regional Service Manager

Responsibilities

Oversee service delivery for biomedical and imaging equipment across multiple healthcare facilities within assigned territory
Manage regional P&L responsibility, including revenue targets, cost control, and profitability metrics
Develop and execute strategic business plans to achieve growth objectives and market expansion
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, safety protocols, and quality assurance programs
Supervise and mentor field service engineers, biomedical technicians, and support staff (typically 15-25 direct and indirect reports)
Recruit, hire, and onboard qualified service personnel to meet regional staffing needs
Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and support career development initiatives
Manage training programs to ensure technical competency and certification maintenance
Maintain strategic relationships with key accounts, including hospitals, imaging centers, and clinics
Lead contract negotiations, service agreement renewals, and expansion opportunities
Resolve escalated customer issues and ensure service level agreement compliance
Conduct regular business reviews with major clients to assess satisfaction and identify growth opportunities
Ensure timely response to service calls and emergency equipment failures
Monitor key performance indicators including uptime, response times, and first-call resolution rates
Coordinate with technical specialists for complex equipment issues and major installations
Manage inventory levels for spare parts, consumables, and loaner equipment
Develop annual budgets and quarterly forecasts for regional operations
Analyze market trends and competitive landscape to identify business opportunities
Implement pricing strategies for service contracts and time-and-materials work
Prepare regular reports for senior management on operational and financial performance

Required

Bachelors degree in engineering, business administration or related field
MBA preferred
Professional certifications (CBET, CRES, or equivalent) strongly desired
Current knowledge of medical device regulations and healthcare industry standards
Minimum 7-10 years of experience in biomedical or imaging equipment service management
3-5 years of regional management or multi-site leadership experience
Proven track record in P&L management and achieving revenue targets
Experience with service contract management and customer relationship development
Comprehensive understanding of medical imaging equipment (CT, MRI, X-ray, ultrasound, mammography)
Familiarity with biomedical equipment including patient monitors, infusion pumps, and laboratory instruments
Knowledge of healthcare IT systems, PACS, and equipment connectivity
Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements (FDA, Joint Commission, state agencies)
Strong financial acumen with experience in budget development and cost management
Excellent communication and presentation skills for executive-level interactions
Proven ability to build and maintain strategic customer relationships
Experience with CRM systems, service management software, and business analytics tools
