Human Resources / Office Administrator
RJI Professionals, Inc. is a prominent General Contractor seeking a Human Resources and Office Administrator to support their multi-state construction operations. The HR Manager will champion HR-related items, assist managers and office staff, and ensure compliance with various employment laws while fostering a strong company culture.

Responsibilities
Build trust with field crews and office teams; coach managers with approachable, common‑sense guidance
Champion our existing company values; reinforce what’s working and introduce improvements thoughtfully
Recruit for trade, field, and office roles; design sourcing strategies appropriate for each market
Manage end‑to‑end hiring: job ads, screening, interviews, offers, and onboarding
Develop and deliver structured onboarding programs for new hires to ensure smooth integration
Manage offboarding processes, including exit interviews, documentation, and compliance
Resolve issues promptly and fairly; conduct investigations and document outcomes
Support performance management, coaching plans, and corrective actions
Support retention and engagement of staff
Ensure compliance with federal and state laws across CO, MN, WI, IA, and MO (e.g., FMLA, ADA, EEO, wage & hour, I‑9/E‑Verify, recordkeeping)
Maintain and update policies, handbooks, and site postings; oversee HR audits and reporting
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across all operating states
Manage worker’s compensation programs across markets (policies, claims, audits, classifications)
Support incident reporting and documentation
Report to leadership on potential exposure points, risks, and corrective actions
Partner with Safety/Operations on OSHA recordkeeping, injury management, return‑to‑work programs, and job‑site requirements
Maintain and source required materials that must be posted
Administer benefits; collaborate with Payroll on timekeeping and multi‑state rules
Own HRIS accuracy (employee data, org charts, compliance docs)
Coordinate onboarding, supervisor training, harassment prevention, and safety‑adjacent HR topics
Assist Leadership and Managers with scheduling and company required events
Create internal SOP and training documents
Partner with payroll to ensure accurate pay and deductions where applicable
Track and manage items such as PTO, sick leave, travel pay, and audits
Support office staff and management in day-to-day operations
Willing to assist in initiatives such as asset tracking, inventory management, spreadsheet management

This position is an in-office/desk position
Preferred
3-5+ years in HR preferred, preferrable experience supporting construction, field service, or similar blue‑collar environments
Comfortable managing HR across Colorado, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Missouri
Certification (preferred not required): SHRM‑CP/SHRM‑SCP or PHR/SPHR
Practical, humble, and people‑centric—able to implement structure without bureaucracy
Employee relations, investigations, wage & hour, leaves, ADA/interactive process, OSHA recordkeeping basics, workers' comp, office
Strong Microsoft Office & Excel skills
Willingness to travel to branches and job sites. Valid driver's license
