Junior Designer

The Junior Designer is responsible for supporting the design team and Creative Director in various project tasks, including administrative support, creating designs, and ensuring project specifications are met.

Design Services

Responsibilities

Directly support the Creative Director, Design Team, and Director of Operations in the day-to-day functions of MEGANROSE Interiors
Maintain studio, selections, and inventory libraries; including the set-up and tear-down of client meetings and presentations
Carry out administrative project support such as filing, copying, printing, binding, scanning, calendar management, sample/selection pick-up, package receipt and returns, etc
Attend consultations as a support to the Creative Director and/or Design Team; maintain detailed notes of meetings and support execution of resulting action items
Attend construction installations and meet trades at projects to ensure project specifications are accurately executed
Independently measure and build preliminary floor plans and assist the Principal Designer and/or Interiors Designer in final floor plan design
Produce floor plans, CAD elevations, sketches, details, furniture plans, renderings, and selection specifications
Independently formulate designs under the guidance of the Creative Director and/or Design Team
Work independently on sourcing materials and construction for clients and collaborate with the team to create client proposals and selection schedules
Monitor project budgets, keep schedules on time and keep Creative Director and/or Design Team informed
Take initiative, problem solve, collaborate, and communicate effectively with the team
Prioritize tasks and coordinate completion of projects
Develop, prepare, and produce quality presentations and prepare team for client presentations
Assist with furniture and decor installations

Required

Availability during traditional business hours Monday through Friday
Polished, detail-oriented self-starter
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to stay calm under pressure
Working knowledge of interior design software
Prior experience at an interior design firm
Comfortable working on multiple projects of various size and scale
Great style and taste consistent with the MEGANROSE Interiors brand
Proactive in identifying potential issues and solving them
Ability to work independently with a strong work ethic and a positive, 'can do' attitude
Organized and detail-oriented with an eye for project dependencies
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Strong note taking, technical drawing skills, field measure experience, quote/bid requests, product/construction knowledge, and experience tracking work time and billable hours
Possesses up-to-date computer equipment with appropriate privacy protections, cell phone, and related devices necessary to perform the work
Reliable car and a valid driver's license with ability to regularly travel for Metro Detroit project
Able to lift up to 25 pounds and comfortable navigating active construction sites
Excellent knowledge of applications such as Google Drive, Word, and Excel
1-3 years experience using SketchUp and Enscape
Willingness to learn project software: HouzzPro/Ivy, ClickUp, Canva, and Google applications

Preferred

1-3 years experience in interior design
