Robotics Engineer

Responsibilities
Innovation, technology development, and the creation of novel medical Instruments and systems, from feasibility study, prototype through product commercialization
Robot system design and manipulation such as motor controls, sensors, embedded modules, Analog to Digital converters, robot motion controls
Integration of electrical designs with mechanical systems
Building prototypes, testing, and analyzing performance
Collaborate with Electrical/Mechanical engineers designing custom end-effectors, calibration of sensors, devices
Collaborate with other engineers, technicians, contract manufacturers, assemblers, or other support personnel to assist in debugging and optimizing overall system performance
Qualification
Required
BS degree in ME, EE, CS or equivalent robotics field
+4 years of experience in designing/building robotic systems and mechatronics
Strong knowledge of robotics fundamentals, mechatronics, mechanical engineering
Experience with robotics software development (Non-ROS, forward/inverse kinematics, motion planning, robot arm manipulation)
Working experience with R&D electrical system modeling, mechatronic parts, robotics applications
Hands-on experience with GUI, microcontrollers, TCP/IP, CAN-Open, embedded system programming (C++, Java, C#)
Hands-on experience with simulation tools (Matlab, python)
Hands-on trouble shooting experience
Knowledge on technology and engineering areas associated with instrument and mechatronics design
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as in-depth experience with product development processes
Experience working with ISO 13485 and 14971, GMP guidelines, FDA regulations, medical device design control, and manufacturing scale-up processes
Ability to work in a regulated environment in compliance to ISO 13485 and 21 CFR 820
Preferred
MS, PhD in robotics field
Mechanical CAD tools (Solidworks preferred)
