Biomedical Equipment Technician
Medasource is a company focused on healthcare technology solutions, and they are seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician II (BMET II) to ensure the reliability and safety of medical equipment. The role involves maintaining, calibrating, and repairing medical devices while collaborating with clinical teams and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and corrective repairs on medical devices, including:
Patient monitoring systems
Infusion devices
Defibrillators
Ventilators
Diagnostic and therapeutic equipment
Troubleshoot and repair equipment at component and system levels
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, manufacturer specifications, and regulatory standards (Joint Commission, CMS, FDA, NFPA, AAMI)
Document all service activities in the CMMS accurately
Assist with inventory management, recall tracking, and hazard alerts
Respond promptly and professionally to service calls
Provide technical support and operational guidance to clinical staff
Collaborate with vendors and contractors for advanced repairs and upgrades
Qualification
Required
Responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, calibrating, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of medical equipment
Ensures equipment reliability, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards
Works independently on moderately complex systems
Provides guidance to BMET I staff
Collaborates with clinical teams, vendors, and leadership
