Responsibilities
Assisting with the upkeep of statewide policies, the establishment of risk management frameworks, and the monitoring of agency compliance
Supporting outreach and awareness programs, assisting Information Security Officers, and helping with statewide maturity assessments
Helping implement Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and ensuring state services adhere to Fair Information Practices (FIPPs)
Assisting with the strategic planning and execution of proactive defensive services and statewide cyber defense initiatives
Gaining insight into the architecture and management of the tools and platforms that protect the State’s enterprise
Qualification
Required
The candidate for this role must be a Junior or Senior and attend a Maryland school or be a Maryland Resident
All hires need to be eligible to work in the U.S., either as a U.S. Citizen or those who have a Permanent Resident or green card, as the state of Maryland does not have the ability to sponsor employees
The candidates must have a 3.0 GPA or higher
Candidate must be able to work 20 hours per week
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for drafting reports, policies, and awareness materials
Ability to conduct research on emerging cyber threats, policy trends, and data metrics to assist in problem-solving
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and interface with diverse stakeholders across state and local government
High level of organization with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail
Sound analytical skills and the ability to think creatively when addressing complex security or privacy challenges
Ability to work independently on assigned deliverables while maintaining a high standard of documentation
