The Manager US Payroll will provide leadership for operational and day-to-day payroll processing to ensure accurate and timely payments to employees supporting multiple legal entities in all 50 states.

Responsibilities

Drive implementation of payroll strategies, continually monitor effectiveness
Accountable for the partnership with our HR service provider for payroll and timekeeping to ensure alignment with the broader HR Tech roadmap as well as Vantive’s HR and Business priorities
Continuously assess payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions. Identify and recommend updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures
Develop close working relationships with internal partners such as the Finance & Accounting teams, Benefits, IT, etc. to quickly resolve issues and handle special requests
Consult with management and provide expertise on a variety of payroll issues
Continually monitor and assess the effectiveness of the US payroll model and team dynamics and lead efforts to realign/refocus as needed. Monitor team activity and coordinate workload in line with SLAs by organizing, prioritizing, and making effective workload allocation decisions
Leads payroll activities associated with acquisitions, divestitures, and other organizational changes
Ensure operations are performed in compliance with company policies, country, state/province, and local laws and are aligned with Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX). Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors
Upon request, take part in special projects and impromptu reporting (annual grant and subsidy requests for Finance and/or Legal Subpoena’s.)
Compiles, processes and audits special payrolls related to but not limited to LTI, Flexible Worker Arrangements, and Relocation
Access security updates to 3rd party vendor solutions for Equifax (separated or on-leave employees): PaperlessPay, The Work Number and My Tax Forms
Monitor and understand industry payroll trends, initiate discussions on relevance to the Company and drive initiatives to implement these trends for Company

Required

Bachelor's degree in HR or related field or equivalent experience
10+ years of Payroll or HR experience with an understanding of payroll principles, practices, and regulations
Understanding of HR operating environments and exposure to applicable State specific legal processing requirements
Proficiency with all Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel
Demonstrated strong analytical, process, and problem-solving skills
Ability to effectively address customer concerns while also maintaining adherence to standards
Display a customer focused work ethic with the ability to interact with all levels of employees

Preferred

Strong background in Workday payroll processing and timekeeping system experience
