Traffic Engineering and Transportation Group Leader
Flux Resources is seeking a visionary Traffic Engineering and Transportation Planning Group Leader / Senior Project Manager to join their client in the Southern California Region. In this role, you will manage and expand the Smart Mobility practice, supervising staff, ensuring technical excellence, and contributing to intelligent and sustainable transportation systems.

Responsibilities
Lead and deliver technical work for the California Smart Mobility team
Mentor and train junior and mid-level staff on career development, project management, and technical expertise
Foster a functional, efficient, and enjoyable work environment as part of the California leadership team
Manage performance, including time off, timecards, expense reports, and training approvals
Collaborate with Smart Mobility Group Leaders across diverse business units to fulfill project and business development opportunities
Learn client standards and expectations, identify new business opportunities, and provide inputs for scopes, schedules, and budgets
Manage transportation engineering and planning projects, including conceptual design and planning of intersection improvements, multimodal facilities, and transportation corridors
Ensure project deliverables are on time, on budget, and meet or exceed industry standards
Work with the California Market Leader to manage resources and complete project commitments
Provide leadership and guidance in traffic design and transportation planning
Review engineering documents and deliverables for compliance with contractual and professional standards
Adhere to firmwide tools, processes, and policies, including project accounting, contracting, and quality requirements
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Planning, or a related field
8-12 years of professional experience in engineering or planning, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or project management role
Proven leadership experience in providing feedback, coaching, and team management
Strong ability to generate work, manage transportation projects, lead a team, and perform technical QA
Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
Preferred
Professional Engineering (PE) License for engineers or AICP Certification for planners (preferred but not necessary)
Project experience with CalTrans and other local agencies
Master's degree in traffic engineering or transportation planning
