Property Accountant (Block Multifamily Group)
Block Multifamily Group is a company focused on residential property management, and they are seeking a Property Accountant to manage financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting for assigned properties. The role involves ensuring compliance with financial regulations, preparing financial analyses, and coordinating with Community Managers and Accounts Payable.

Responsibilities
Review and analyze general ledgers for respective properties process journal entries, calculate accruals and update balance sheet
Review and approve A/P invoices, payroll data, A/R adjustments, daily cash receipts journal etc, ensure proper audit trail is in place
Prepare monthly and quarterly variance analysis and monthly balance sheet analysis, income statements, and bank reconciliations, and various account reconciliation
Ensure compliance of mortgage loan covenants and reporting requirements
Prepare detailed year-end financial reconciliations, analyses and working papers
Prepare quarterly forecasts, invoicing of operating expense recoveries, C.P.I., adjustments and security deposit transactions
Preparation of annual budget package, detailed variance analysis, and balance sheet analysis
Preparing and maintaining necessary continuity schedules for properties (prepaid, accrual, security deposit sub account tracking
Prepare cash request for respective properties and research discrepancies
Responsible for review of lease assets to ensure depreciation / amortization Update fixed asset and depreciation schedules with all monthly additions for respective properties
Assist in post-closing proration adjustments and system set up for new entities
Ensure that Mortgage payments, real estate tax payments, and insurance payments are made timely and accurately recorded
Respond to questions pertaining to year-end work with outside auditors
Adhere to policies and procedures, as well as maintain effective internal controls
Work as a team player in evaluating and resolving discrepancies, as needed
Assist on all special projects, as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's in accounting
Strong accounting skills
Proficiency in PC based software
Strong communication skills, both oral and written
Ability to handle multiple priorities, self-starter
Understanding of property management in relation to financial accounting, recoveries, budgeting and forecasting
Strong analytical ability
Superior attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent follow up skills
Knowledge of, or ability to learn, Federal, State, and Local Laws pertaining to Landlord/Tenant Laws
Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
Ability to climb stairs, walk, bend, grasp, and lift up to 25 lbs

Preferred
CPA preferred
3+ years of public accounting and/or multifamily real estate accounting experience preferred
