Senior Business Development Manager - Focused on Infrastructure/Large Scale Site Development
The Erosion Company (TEC) is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager focused on Infrastructure and Large-Scale Site Development. The successful candidate will drive growth throughout the Southeast by developing market share, maintaining customer relationships, and leading new business initiatives in the erosion control industry.
Responsibilities
Lead new market development initiatives throughout the Southeast and expanded regions by executing strategic marketing, cold calling, and prospecting efforts for full-service erosion control, site compliance, and Developer Services, while maintaining daily oversight of existing customer relationships
Responsible for building market share and position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business deals while strengthening business relationships
Develop and set sales objectives, sales plan, and annual quota for assigned territory, focusing sales and marketing efforts to meet or exceed this quota
Identify and investigate planned projects before contract award and establish a plan to win future work
Maintaining and building a customer base by developing a strong rapport with key clients and working to establish new customer opportunities
Become a trusted expert in all areas that govern the erosion control industry, by continuing to educate oneself through reading, attending professional seminars and group activities, as well as maintaining a personal network
Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, developers, EPC firms, general contractors, engineers, and key industry partners
Serve as a trusted advisor to clients by promoting TEC’s technical capabilities and integrated service offerings
Represent TEC at industry events, trade shows, conferences, and client meetings
Proactively identifying upcoming projects and influencing early design and procurement decisions
Lead pursuit planning, including go/no-go decisions, win strategies, and value propositions
Coordinate with estimating, preconstruction, and operations teams to develop competitive, client-focused proposals
Work closely with regional operations leaders to ensure seamless handoff from pursuit to execution
Support continuous improvement by sharing market intelligence, lessons learned, and client feedback
Align business development efforts with TEC’s safety, quality, and operational excellence standards
Act as a mentor and leader to regional business development and sales team members
Promote TEC’s employee-owned culture and values in all internal and external interactions
Qualification
Required
A minimum of 5 years of direct sales experience in the landscaping, erosion control, or other construction services area
Proven track record of annual growth through new account acquisition and organic growth with existing accounts
A passion for a potential client and customer engagement to create and deepen relationships
Exceptional people and presentation skills
High-producing self-starter who is accountable for their daily activities
Proficiency with CRM systems and knowledge of lead generation information, such as Industrial Info Resources
Demonstrated success in pursuing and securing work in industrial, renewable energy, or data center markets
Strong understanding of design-build, EPC, and alternative delivery methods
Must have current contacts and ties within the Southeast and potential markets area construction services markets for Industrial, Commercial, Renewable Energy, and Data Centers, and Large-scale projects
Preferred
Construction Services background
Strong working knowledge of CRM's
Ties to the local Chamber of Commerce and local, state, and/or federal Council for Economic Growth and related erosion control professional associations
Prior Sales leadership position directly managing a team of sales professionals, a Plus
Certification in Erosion and Sediment Control, a plus
