Spurwink Services is looking for an experienced and dynamic Education Director for their Glickman Academy Day Treatment Program in Portland. This role involves managing daily operations, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with educational regulations while providing special education services to students. The program aims to foster academic, social, and emotional skills for students in grades K-12+.

Responsibilities

Manage and coordinate daily operations of the school program
Coordinate referrals and ongoing services with district Special Education Directors
Supervise Special Education Teachers, Educational Technicians, and related staff
Facilitate IEP meetings and support teachers in creating effective IEPs
Oversee student educational programs
Organize ongoing professional development opportunities
Function as part of a multi-disciplinary team

Qualification

Master's degree in EducationSupervisory experienceSpecial Education certificationClassroom teaching experienceMulti-disciplinary teamwork

Required

Minimum of 3 years classroom teaching experience
Master's degree in Education (or comparable field)
Two years supervisory experience
Must be eligible to obtain 282, 035, or 030 certification through the Maine Department of Education
