Meter Service Installer

Responsibilities

Responsible for working single phase & three phase meters on residential and commercial accounts
Performs disconnects on residential and commercial accounts due to non-payment of bill
Installs and removes different types of locks for tampering prevention
Performs other related tasks as assigned
Attends and participates in monthly safety meetings
Must render excellent customer service in a professional manner while handling customers in the field
Assists in storm restoration efforts as needed
Completes daily work tickets through the Mobile Data system
Knows and practices Entergy's applicable safety rules and safe work procedures at all times

Required

Authorization to work in the United States
Score of 'Test Recommended' on the EEI Construction and Skilled Trades Selection System (CAST) Testing
High School Diploma or equivalent
Installer, Meter Srvcs I - 0-2 years
Installer, Meter Srvcs II - 1-3 years of work experience
Installer, Meter Srvcs III - 5-7 years of work experience
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and radio communication
Ability to read map
Ability to interface with coworkers, workers from other departments, supervisors and customers
Ability to make decisions without direct supervision
Ability to travel including out of town assignments
Ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities
Self motivated and dependable team player
Ability to work well under pressure
Ability to recognize hazards in the workplace and have the ability to mitigate the hazards
EEI CAST Test

Preferred

Basic knowledge of Entergy regulations and procedures governing disconnects for non payment
Knowledge of diversion of electricity
Knowledge of service standards for electric
Working knowledge of meter installations
Knowledge of city streets and roads in assigned work area
Ability to recognize opportunities for process improvement
