Responsibilities

Demonstrates intermediate to advanced technical knowledge/clinical competency in clinical practice as evidenced by the ability to assume a role in the provision of care as needed
Demonstrates the ability to address staff concerns, provide resources, and follow-through
Builds credibility with multidisciplinary staff and physicians by maintaining knowledge, quality, and professional practice/service aligned with the mission, vision, and values of RHS. Promote and assist in improving policies and protocols to maintain and inspire independent critical thinking skills. Able to address staff and physician issues and concerns with timely follow-ups- within 72 hours of presentation
Holds self and others accountable in delivering comprehensive, quality, and personal patient/customer care needs by upholding patient safety standards, standards of excellence, and the Riverside Code of Conduct through communicating safety goals, cross checking, encouraging safe behavior and evidence-based practice
Possesses and demonstrates immediate to advanced technical knowledge and clinical competence in Respiratory Therapy by assuming a role in patient care as needed. Assures that policies and procedures remain current and consistent with updated guidelines. Evaluates and monitors adherence to policies and procedures through audits, observations, and timely feedback while maintaining progressive and evidence-based practice

Required

Associates Degree, or higher in Respiratory Therapy/Science
Bachelors Degree, Health Sciences or Health/Business Administration
3-4 years progressive clinical or leadership experience as respiratory therapist
3-4 years critical care clinical experience in respiratory care
Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) - The National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Virginia
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - The National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC)
PALS Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) within 180 Days
AAM certification within 180 Days

Preferred

Masters Degree, related field or administration and clinical specialty certifications
