The Director of Facilities and IT is responsible for overseeing the physical and digital infrastructure, ensuring maintenance, security, and effective vendor management to support the organization's goals.

Responsibilities
Ensure United Way’s physical property, telecommunications systems, and information technology are well-maintained and meet the needs of staff, tenants, and community members
Proactively ensure ongoing maintenance and security of building and parking lot. Maintain prioritized list of maintenance needs. Ensure that items are assigned and completed in a timely and cost-effective manner, and communicated to appropriate stakeholders
Provide oversight to community spaces and warehouse, creating and reinforcing guidelines for use so that all users can keep the spaces organized and ready for use at all times
Manage processes and policies related to building tenants (long term contract as well as event groups), with the goal of a fully-leased property
Oversee procurement and vendor relationships related to building maintenance and security as well as telecom services and information technology. Assess vendors and systems regularly to ensure alignment with UW’s needs. Regular vendors include, but are not limited to, janitorial, security, and IT support
Manage budget for facilities and technology equipment purchase, maintenance, and contracts. Ensure timely processing of all relevant receivables and payables
Maintain availability to staff for basic IT support such as troubleshooting equipment, and determining appropriate vendor for escalation as needed
Manage the renewal of relevant property and liability insurances; report and track claims as needed
Maintain good working relationship with relevant licensing and government agencies
Qualification
Required
Facilities management skills: ability to assess and complete basic maintenance, building, and repair tasks; knowledge of equipment, supplies, and materials used in commercial property maintenance; general understanding of plumbing, HVAC, electrical, security, etc
IT skills: knowledge and understanding of standard office hardware and software systems; ability to troubleshoot hardware and software; experience with software and IT support vendors; ability to support users and suggest appropriate steps for resolution
Ability to manage vendors, contracts, and budgets
Ability to exercise good judgment, manage time effectively to solve problems and take initiative, assign tasks and projects to appropriate parties, and respond appropriately to changing circumstances and priorities
Ability to develop and maintain relationships with multiple internal and external individuals
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and cloud-based systems
Fluency in English required, with strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced office environment
Flexible to change; proven ability to manage multiple high-priority projects and deadlines without compromising quality
Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
A minimum of 5 years relevant facilities experience with at least 1 year IT support experience
Combination of experience and education
Supervisory experience is strongly preferred
Understanding of and commitment to the mission, vision, and goals of United Way
Preferred
Experience managing tenants within a commercial office building
