Web Engineer (RPG) - W2
Robot Insight Technologies is seeking an experienced Software Engineer with a strong background in IBM iSeries environments and modern web architectures. The ideal candidate will modernize legacy RPG applications while ensuring integration with contemporary web-based systems in high-volume environments.

Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain applications on IBM iSeries (AS/400) platforms
Modernize legacy RPG / RPGLE codebases using Agile best practices
Expose and integrate high-volume DB2 datasets with modern web applications
Collaborate with frontend and middleware teams to enable scalable web architectures
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for legacy and modern systems
Develop and execute automated testing strategies to ensure system reliability
Ensure performance, security, and data integrity of backend systems
Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
Support healthcare-grade systems with a focus on stability, compliance, and scalability
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer
Strong expertise in IBM iSeries (AS/400)
Hands-on experience with RPG / RPGLE / Free RPG
Solid understanding of DB2 database design and optimization
Experience integrating legacy systems with modern web architectures
Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban)
Experience with CI/CD tools and automated testing frameworks
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration abilities
Preferred
Experience in healthcare systems or regulated environments
Exposure to REST APIs, middleware, or microservices
Experience with modernization or system transformation initiatives
