Guidance Navigation Control Engineer (Engineer or Principal Engineer Level)

In this role, you will work in a multi-disciplinary team to design, develop, implement, verify, and test algorithms, software, and simulation tools for aircraft guidance, navigation, and control.

Responsibilities

Develop control laws to meet air vehicle performance, flying qualities and stability margin requirements, both on ground and in flight
Develop air vehicle system linear and non-linear dynamic simulation models and integrate models into software and hardware-in-the-loop simulation environments
Develop the next generation of navigation technology
Interface with strategic supplier partners and coordinating with adopting programs to ensure technical requirements are properly incorporated into design solutions
Analyze air vehicle flight test data and support flight test activities
Utilize excellent communication, analysis and problem-solving skills

Required

Must have a Bachelors degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) field and at least 2 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a Master's Degree in a STEM field with at least some relevant academic experience
Must have knowledge of fixed-wing aircraft flight dynamics
Must have experience using MATLAB to create, process, analyze, and visually represent data
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs
Must have a Bachelors degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) field and at least 5 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a Master's Degree in a STEM field with at least 3 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a Ph.D. and at least 1 year of relevant military / professional experience
Must have knowledge of fixed-wing aircraft flight dynamics
Must have experience using MATLAB to create, process, analyze, and visually represent data
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs

Preferred

Proficient in MATLAB/Simulink
Experience using linear control principles and tools to design feedback control systems
Experience analyzing non-linear simulations of aircraft closed-loop dynamics
Good understanding of the GPS system, the GPS Signal in Space characteristics, DGPS systems, inertial sensors, GPS/INS, tightly coupled Kalman filters, GPS receiver design, alternative PNT solutions
Proficiency with test equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, signal analyzers, multi-meters)
Supplier management experience
An active DoD Top Secret clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
