Unit Secretary, NICU
MemorialCare is a nonprofit integrated health system committed to providing patient-centric healthcare. The Unit Secretary will provide clerical support to the NICU, ensuring efficient operations and excellent customer service while coordinating patient, physician, and staff needs.

Responsibilities
Performs clerical skills to facilitate the accurate and efficient operation of the assigned unit
Files orders, reports and patient related information into charts in a timely manner
Manages the work environment in order to maintain a safe workplace and cost effective practice
Requests supplies to be ordered, prepares and completes each patient’s chart for necessary forms needed on a daily basis
Checks for completeness, accuracy and correctness of patients records
Practices telephone etiquette when placing and answering calls for physicians, patient families and other departments
Maintains an organized nursing station, monitors for noise levels, ensures good workflow at the desk area
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Certificate of completion of a formal Unit Secretary program, CNA/EDT experience, or successful completion of one semester in an accredited RN program
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification
Preferred
1+ years of recent experience preferred as a Unit Secretary or Ward Clerk in a comparable size facility within the same or similar specialty area
Proficient in Medical Terminology is favored
Bachelors degree preferred
Completion of Medical Terminology class-preferred
