Maricopa County is seeking a Development Services Technician Lead for their Flood Control District. This role involves managing critical parts of the permitting process, providing customer service, and maintaining records in an automated system while ensuring the protection of Flood Control District assets.

Responsibilities

Manages key aspects of permit applications for projects that will impact the Flood Control District properties and structures. This includes intake of new applications, initial research of the project’s scope of work, coordinating plan approvals, and issuing permits. Maintains permit information in County databases

Coordinates activities among various County departments, municipalities, consultants, developers, and other external agencies. Provides limited oversight and work direction to lower-level staff. Ensures a high level of customer service to applicants

Troubleshoots and resolves escalated, complex customer complaints, problems, and/or issues

Conducts specialized or complex research and interprets and applies ordinances, regulations, and rules to applications

Qualification

Development services experienceGISMapping applicationsConstruction plans knowledgeLand development experiencePlanning experience

Required

Three years of development services experience

High school diploma or GED

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered in substitution for the minimum qualifications

Preferred

Experience in GIS or mapping applications

Knowledge of construction plans and/or drawings

Experience in land development, construction, engineering, or planning
