Responsibilities

Provide first contact, continuous, and comprehensive primary care for infants, children, youth, and adults

Participate in Continuing Medical Education (CME) and quality assurance activities as assigned

Lead a multi-disciplinary team of individuals who collectively take responsibility for the ongoing care of patients

Examination, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of medical, surgical, obstetric, gynecological, and orthopedic care

Supervise other health care providers as assigned. Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, and the capabilities of employees

Required

Degree: Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada

Licensure: Applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States

Graduate Training: At least one year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting

Residency Training: Successfully completed the required accredited residency training in the specialty of Internal Medicine and equivalent experience and training equal to at least 4 years

Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross

Moderate to heavy lifting up to 44 pounds is required

This position may require the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing

This position has been designated 'Mission Essential'

Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315
