Responsibilities

Conduct laboratory tests and analyze data for a variety of purposes, such as production, pollution control, quality control, and minor research
Test and analyze products, such as feed, beverage, and industrial alcohol, to determine if product meets plant specifications prior to release
Release in spec vessels and report out of spec vessels
Test and analyze production samples, such as fermenters, beerstills, rectifiers, etc., and report uncharacteristic results
Test and analyze wastewater samples to ensure effluent is within GPSD discharge limits and report any violations
Document results of tests, readings, etc. in logbooks and in TLC (Total Lab Client)
Complete certificates of analysis
Prepare chemical solutions for use in lab
Maintain and calibrate all lab equipment and related field instrumentation
Maintains awareness and adheres to all FDA, GMP, TTB, USP, EPA, OSHA and employer standards and guidelines
Support and comply with all food safety, quality, and legality requirements
Other duties as assigned

Able to understand and comply with plant GMP and personnel practice requirements
Computer skills to utilize lab instrument operation programs
Demonstrated math skills to perform calculations associated with lab testing
High school diploma or GED is required

Preferred

2- or 4-year science degree is preferred
2 plus years of work experience in a quality assurance lab preferred
