Responsibilities

Act as the Terraform SME, developing reusable modules and automating infrastructure provisioning using IaC best practices
Design, deploy, and manage cloud landing zones / foundation frameworks in Azure or AWS
Support application migrations by implementing secure, scalable cloud infrastructure via Terraform
Design networking and identity architectures (VNET/VPC, segmentation, RBAC/IAM, policies, monitoring)
Partner with DevOps, security, and application teams to define standards, guardrails, and automation patterns
Optimize cloud environments for performance, reliability, and cost
Maintain architecture diagrams, IaC documentation, and operational runbooks

Qualification

Required

Expert-level Terraform experience (modules, state, CI/CD, Git workflows)
5+ years in cloud engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure automation
Strong knowledge of IaC principles, cloud automation, and lifecycle management
Hands-on experience with Azure or AWS cloud services
Solid understanding of compute, networking, identity, security, and monitoring
Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred

Azure Government Cloud or AWS GovCloud experience
Azure Landing Zones or AWS Control Tower architectures
Cloud certifications (Azure or AWS) or equivalent hands-on experience
Scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash)
Experience in government, defense, or highly regulated environments
Familiarity with FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, or DoD IL compliance frameworks
