Responsibilities

Oversee payroll tax processing for multi-state and international employees
Prepare and file quarterly and annual payroll tax returns (Forms 941, 940, W-2, W-3, and international equivalents)
Reconcile payroll tax accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly
Respond to tax notices and support audits from federal, state, and international agencies
Monitor legislative changes and implement new compliance requirements
Collaborate with HR, Finance, and external vendors to optimize payroll tax processes
Lead year-end activities including W-2 and global tax reporting
Mentor junior specialists and provide guidance on complex tax issues
Assist with other areas and functions as need as assigned by management
The ability to work overtime, travel, and regular punctual attendance is required

Required

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and/or equivalent experience
5+ years of payroll tax experience, including multi-state and international compliance
Experience managing payroll for large populations (1000+ employees)
Familiar with all regulations pertaining to payroll, to ensure company compliance with federal and state laws, including reporting requirements
High level ability to make time-sensitive decisions
Manage multiple competing priorities
Work in a fast paced environment
Proficient in payroll systems (ADP, Workday, or similar)
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas)
Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
Legally authorized to work in the United States for our company without the need for current or future visa sponsorship
Ability to work overtime, travel, and regular punctual attendance is required
Confidentiality in all aspects of Payroll and company information required
Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and work directly on a computer in a high pressure environment
Must be able to lift 25 pounds occasionally

Preferred

CPP or FPC strongly preferred
International tax certification a plus
