The State of Hawaiʻi is seeking a Computer Operations Supervisor I for the Department of Transportation. The role involves supervising computer operators and overseeing the operations of a central electronic data processing center.

Responsibilities
Supervises a shift of computer operators in the day-to-day operations of a large central electronic data processing center with one or more computer systems having on-line teleprocessing and satellite station facilities; or supervises all computer and related production operations for a small computer center; and performs other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Four years of work experience in the operation of an electronic computer, its control console, components and peripheral electronic and electro-mechanical equipment
For the Computer Operations Supervisor I level, applicants must possess supervisory aptitude. Supervisory aptitude is the demonstration of aptitude or potential for the performance of supervisory duties through successful completion of regular or special assignments which involve some supervisory responsibilities or aspects of supervision, e.g., by serving as a group or team leader; or in similar work in which opportunities for demonstrating supervisory capabilities exist; or by the completion of training courses in supervision accompanied by application of supervisory skills in work assignments; and/or by favorable appraisals by a supervisor indicating the possession of supervisory potential
