The Associate Claim Representative, Inside Auto, will participate in structured training to develop skills in claim handling and customer service while managing insurance damage claims related to automobiles and property. Responsibilities
Actively participate in structured training classes covering insurance policies, specific claim processes, systems, and procedures, including virtual, classroom, and on-the-job training
Assess coverage to determine compensability
Investigate by gathering information from policyholders, claimants, and witnesses
Partner with resources, as needed, to obtain other evidence in order to properly handle the claim. Assess claims for potential fraud
Establish appropriate claim reserves, determine the claim resolution amount, and issue accurate payments
Develop and execute action plans for effective claim resolution
Communicate and apprise all parties regarding claim status, including business customers
Maintain accurate records of claim activity in claim management systems
Demonstrate openness to continuous learning, particularly in AI and digital transformation
Adapt to new workflows, technology implementations, system upgrades, and digital tool rollouts while maintaining productivity and service quality
Acquire and maintain relevant Insurance License(s) to comply with state and Travelers’ requirements within three months of starting the job
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED and one year of customer service experience OR Bachelor's Degree
Acquire and maintain relevant Insurance License(s) to comply with state and Travelers' requirements within three months of starting the job
Preferred
Previous internship or work experience in insurance or customer service
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
Exceptional customer service skills and a commitment to providing a positive experience for insureds and claimants
Ability to exercise sound judgement and make effective decisions
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally
