Responsibilities
Responsible for daily greenhouse plant care, including pollination, transplanting, watering, harvesting, and seed management for corn, soybean, wheat, canola, and additional crop varieties
Support experimental procedures, assist in data collection, and maintain comprehensive records
Perform routine greenhouse sanitation tasks, such as disposing of regulated materials and destroying waste in accordance with safety protocols
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED required
Two or more years of relevant experience or equivalent education will be considered
Strong attention to detail and ability to adhere to standard operating procedures and safety/ergonomic guidelines are essential
Demonstrated communication and organizational skills, self-motivation, positive attitude, and capacity to work independently as well as within a team, with minimal supervision
Basic proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and the ability to learn proprietary research software
Physical capability to stand and sit for extended periods, lift up to 30 lbs., and perform repetitive tasks in a warm, humid greenhouse environment with year-round exposure to pollen
Ability to safely work around common chemicals as required
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in agriculture, horticulture, entomology, or a related plant science discipline
