Labor & Employment Relations Manager - Bohemia, NY
Sartorius is a global life science company seeking an experienced Labor & Employment Relations Manager to provide strategic legal guidance on labor and employment matters across North America. The role involves advising HR and business leaders on compliance with employment laws, managing complex employee relations issues, and supporting the development of training programs.

Responsibilities
Advise HR and business leaders on U.S. federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as applicable regulations in Canada, LATAM and Puerto Rico
Draft, review, and update employment-related local policies, handbooks, and agreements (e.g., offer letters, separation agreements, confidentiality agreements)
Advise and counsel complex employee relations issues, including investigations, disciplinary actions, and terminations, ensuring legal compliance and consistency
Support compliance programs related to wage and hour, discrimination, harassment, and workplace safety
Monitor legislative and regulatory changes impacting employment practices and proactively recommend adjustments
Coordinate with external counsel as needed for litigation, arbitration, or specialized regional matters
Support the development and delivery of Employment Law Trainings to key stakeholders
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school; licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
5+ years of experience in employment law
Strong knowledge of U.S. employment laws (FLSA, Title VII, ADA, FMLA, etc.) and familiarity with Canada, Puerto Rico and LATAM labor frameworks
Proven ability to manage complex, cross-border employment issues and provide practical, business-oriented solutions
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
Potential for up to 10% travel

Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is a plus
