Responsibilities
Sanding of new system installations and refinishing of installed/existing surfaces
Operations of riding sanders and other sanders/tools to smooth/prepare floors (edgers), including small spaces/corners
Removal of imperfections
Work with several different types of wood
Calibrate and maintain floor sanding machines/equipment
Examine floors to make sure surfaces are ready for finishing process (sealing/paint/finish coats)/remediate protruding nail heads
Refasten or replace pieces of old flooring before sanding
Sweep and vacuum floor after sanding
Finish floors with buffer or light sander
Safe transport of equipment/tools
Ability to communicate, problem solve and work within a crew
Some overnight travel is required (primarily Mid-Atlantic region)
Qualification
Required
1 to 2 years' experience sanding residential/athletic flooring
Surface/floor maintenance experience
Requires physical work with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently and 100+ pounds as a team lift
Willingness to travel (primarily Mid-Atlantic region)
Ability to communicate, problem solve and work within a crew
