Electronics Engineer
Air Force Research Laboratory is seeking a mid-level Electronics Engineer to contribute to the discovery, development, and transition of next-generation Electronic Warfare concepts. The incumbent will be responsible for providing expert knowledge and analysis, coordinating with various stakeholders, and ensuring that assigned projects meet performance requirements.

Responsibilities
Represent the Branch as an EW leader and subject-matter expert to internal/external organizations
Apply substantial depth of analysis, expert knowledge, and mastery of advanced engineering methods, theories, and standards
Possess knowledge/understanding of DoD-wide operational policies/procedures, USAFMAJCOM/COCOM needs, and technological advances in EW industry, Government labs, US Allies, and academia
Assist with translating EW capability gaps/needs into focused technology/capability development plans
Assist with technology transition plans with receiving agents such as HAF, SAF/AQ, MAJCOMs, AFLCMC, etc
Coordinate with Branch Technical Advisor (TA) to establish visionary programs/projects, prioritize funding/technical goals, and support oral/written briefs/documents to support Branch/Division mission and programmatic requirements
Assist with synchronization of Branch research with Branch TA
Assist with technical and strategic guidance/leadership to in-house/contracted EW research and development efforts
Ensure assigned programs/projects meet cost, schedule, and performance requirements/objectives
Provide inputs to Branch Chief on resource needs (i.e. personnel, material, funding, etc.); seek/develop/support collaborative work and partnership agreements
Assist with technical reviews of assigned Branch programs/projects and attend relevant technical meetings, symposiums, and interagency technical exchanges
Knowledge of threat warning and countermeasure hardware/software designs and techniques; test and evaluation methodologies; simulation technologies; and in-depth threat capabilities and limitations

Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower applicable grade, or equivalent in other pay systems

A professional engineering degree at the bachelor's level from an ABET accredited institution in General Engineering or a closely related field is required
Ability to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET / SCI security clearance
This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent will be subject to random testing
This position has been designated as a Non-Critical Acquisition Position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) requiring Engineering and Technical Management (N) Level/Tier 2 (Practitioner) Non-Critical certification. The selectee must meet or be capable of achieving acquisition certification within 60 months after assignment. This position also requires the employee to engage in acquisition continuous learning activities achieving 80 continuous learning points every 24 months

Preferred
M.S. or Ph.D. Electrical Engineering or related accredited post-graduate degree in an area such as: electronics engineering, radio frequency systems engineering, radar systems engineering, antenna systems engineering, wireless transmissions, and digital communications
Proficient knowledge and understanding of electronic warfare or electrical engineering concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, materials, and equipment
Proficient knowledge and understanding of Open Systems standards such as AMS-GRA, Big Iron
Proficient knowledge and understanding of algorithms in the area of optimization and/or data fusion
Possess effective leadership/management skill sets
Able to work in a team environment, as well as independently
Able to quickly adapt to new challenges with a strong motivation to grow and learn in new areas
Possess excellent writing/presenting capabilities
Proficient knowledge in modeling, simulation, and analysis applications
Proficient knowledge in model-based systems engineering and modeling, simulation, and analysis applications
Experience assisting Chief Engineer or Lead Engineer on a project/program
Experience in leading teams
Experience in research task decomposition and planning
Experience working with the Department of Defense research community
Experience developing and maintaining close relationships with academia and other Government agencies for basic research
