Assistant Professor Term (Open Rank) - Department of Engineering Fundamentals

The University of Louisville is inviting applications for a Teaching-Track faculty position in the Department of Engineering Fundamentals. The successful candidate will primarily teach mathematics courses for first and second year engineering students and collaborate with other faculty to enhance instructional quality.

Teach mathematics courses for engineering students including calculus, differential equations, numerical methods, and linear algebra
Collaborate with instructional teams to share course materials, assessments, and grading
Continuously improve courses and instruction through evidence-based teaching

Qualification

Required

Masters or Doctorate degree in Engineering, Mathematics or a related field
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills, including working with students from a variety of backgrounds
Some relevant experience teaching mathematics to undergraduate STEM students
Genuine interest in cooperating with other instructors as part of a teaching team
Commitment to high-quality teaching and student success

Preferred

Doctorate degree in Engineering or Mathematics
Experience teaching first-year college students or a similar population
Experience using active learning and other evidence-based teaching practices
Experience with continuous course improvement through scholarship of teaching and learning
