Responsibilities
Partner with leadership to establish the project team and define roles
Produce project initiation documents including detailed scope outline, budget, and milestone schedule
Identify delivery risks early and align mitigation plans with the team and client
Lead implementation to ensure work aligns to approved scope and schedule
Maintain project status reporting systems with real-time actions, changes, and decisions
Drive internal coordination across disciplines and resolve conflicts impacting schedule
Keep the client informed through a clear communication cadence and decision tracking
Ensure QA/QC steps and review workflows are followed for all deliverables
Oversee production of high-quality reports and presentations aligned to scope and standards
Control project costs for time, travel, and reimbursables
Track fee burn, forecast variances, and take corrective action early
Issue and manage change notices for scope and budget adjustments
Maximize profitability through resource planning, budgeting discipline, and cost controls
Lead, support, and develop project staff
Evaluate performance, identify strengths and gaps, and coach for growth
Qualification
Required
BS in Engineering or equivalent
Active PE license
5+ years in consulting engineering across varied projects
Prior experience as a Project Manager owning scope, schedule, and budget
