Responsibilities
Perform regular inspections and audits of pipeline facilities to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
Identify and document potential hazards and safety risks, implementing corrective actions as necessary
Conduct safety meetings and trainings, educating employees on best practices and safety procedures
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement safety policies and procedures
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, identifying root causes and recommending preventive measures
Develop and maintain accurate records and reports related to safety inspections and incidents
Stay updated on industry trends and changes in safety regulations, ensuring continuous compliance and improvement
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and initiatives, recommending enhancements when needed
Provide guidance and support to employees regarding safety issues and concerns
Foster a culture of safety awareness and accountability within the organization
Qualification
Required
Proven experience as a Safety Inspector or in a similar role within the oil and gas industry
In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to pipeline operations
Strong understanding of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards
Professional certification in safety management (e.g., Certified Safety Professional)
Experience conducting safety inspections and audits specifically in pipeline operations
Experience in the construction industry
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, and general computer & technology literacy
Knowledge of environmental regulations related to pipeline operations
Familiarity with process safety management (PSM) principles and procedures
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey safety information to diverse audiences
Strong leadership and decision-making abilities, with a proactive approach to problem-solving
Attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities
Ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos
Ability to write correspondence
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Preferred
Associate or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
OSHA 500/501 preferred
