Quality Assurance and Control Engineer - New FAB Construction Department

Responsibilities

Monitor welding procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards such as ASTM, ASME, or AWS
Able to identify issues such as improper welding techniques, material defects, or insufficient weld penetration
Visually inspect the welds and fusions on fittings and joints and verify adherence to all manufacturer and client procedures
Monitor and enforce three level of inspection process
Conduct daily observations to ensure that all three level of inspection are undertaken and implemented as designed and document all results
Examine the work area to assure that all required work has been completed and is following the contract requirements and resolve any differences
Ensures that all work in place is in compliance with approved submittals and contract documents
Ensures that rework items are being corrected
Participates in activities to support the company's strategic planning efforts
Performs internal quality inspections and participates with IOR inspections
Performs submittal reviews and approvals for compliance with subcontract documents
Prepares quality management plans for specialized projects
Schedules and conducts pre-installation conferences
Supervises testing agencies and maintains records to ensure testing is performed per ASTM standards
Verifies materials meet contract specific requirements
Participate in Contractor Quality weekly Meetings
Chair and document weekly QC meetings with internal and external stakeholders (employer and subcontractors quality representatives) and external team members
Oversee daily and weekly QC/QA reports that reinforce activities that are being constructed in conformance with established standards

Required

A graduate of a four-year accredited college or university program in one of the following disciplines: Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Building Construction, or Building Science; related field or equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for this requirement. Other relevant education, training or work experience may substitute for bachelor's degree
5 years of large project and construction management experience preferred with strong results in meeting deadlines and cost requirements
In-depth knowledge of the Construction Standards and Best Practices
Computer skills using Procore, Viewpoint, SharePoint, MS Office, Smartsheet, ACC, Bluebeam and BIM 360 Field
Must have knowledge of the applicable codes and standards for industrial construction, with a preference for semiconductor industrial experience
Candidate should have knowledge of ASME B31.3, NFPA 70, NFPA 54 and IBC Chapter 17 as well as general knowledge of other applicable codes and standards
Have experience with interpreting and enforcing contract requirements, drawings, specifications and applicable codes
Highly enthusiastic and interested in semiconductor manufacturing facility construction
Possess independent thinking, research, and operational abilities
Ability to innovate, think quickly, and align with key stakeholders to provide solutions
May spend extended hours working inside and outside in all weather conditions, and in awkward body positions which can cause physical discomfort and strain
Required to regularly lift up to 50 lbs and to adjust heavy objects
The position will come in contact with sharp, hot, and cold equipment, and parts
Must be medically qualified to wear a personal respirator
Sensory demands include exposure to the smells associated with industrial chemical operations, exposure to the sounds associated with powered tools and industrial equipment
Must have the ability to safely climb ladders, and work at elevation from ladders, scaffolding, lifts, roofs, or platforms, and the ability to work in confined spaces
