Responsibilities

Responsible for technical assignments that further develop engineering skills usually under supervision of a more senior technical staff
Work both in a team environment and independently to identify facility and process issues, determine possible solutions, evaluate costs and benefits of the credible alternatives, choose the appropriate resolution, and implement while working in an operating manufacturing environment
Act as a technical resource supporting project teams and maintenance organizations within the Corporation providing leadership and direction relative to mechanical or electrical concerns
Develop RFPs, specifications and bid packages, determine list of qualified contractors, evaluate bids and oversee execution of the resulting contracts
Participate in facility maintenance operations to ensure protection of company assets. Proactively evaluate mechanical or electrical systems to judge remaining useful life and determine appropriate schedules and budgets for replacement to ensure integrity of building conditions and power supply. Lead design of new systems as required
Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using experience and judgment in making adaptations and modifications
Lead assignments that have clear and specified goals

Required

Background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Experience Leading or coordinating the work of others including contractors, vendors and consultants
Project management skills with the ability to lead or support the execution of projects
Demonstrated ability to lead a cross functional team
Demonstrated ability to work efficiently, be pro-active, and communicate effectively with team members and management
Ability to Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using experience and judgment in making adaptations and modifications
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with +2 years of progressive experience

Preferred

CAD experience a plus
