Land Development Project Engineer

STV is currently seeking a Land Development Project Engineer for its Buildings, Facilities and Infrastructure group in Owings Mills, MD. The role involves collaborating on a variety of land development projects and working with multidisciplinary teams to enhance design skills and project quality.

Responsibilities

Prepare construction documents, permit packages, and support construction services
Utilize design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation; HydroCAD; Hydraflow Hydrographs and ArcGIS) to create construction drawings, layouts, and models for land development projects
Conduct site investigations and assessments to support design decisions
Develop sustainable and innovative solutions for site layouts, stormwater management, grading, utilities, and erosion/sediment control
Prepare design calculations, technical reports, and feasibility studies
Coordinate with regulatory agencies to secure permits and approvals
Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other engineers to integrate site design with overall project goals
Participate in client meetings and presentations to discuss project requirements and progress
Support project managers by monitoring budgets, schedules, and deliverables
Stay current with industry trends, technology, and best practices to enhance project quality

Required

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
Professional Engineering License
4-10 years of experience in civil/site design, land development, or a related field
Familiarity with site development principles, including grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, and erosion/sediment control
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or MicroStation
Ability to lead permitting processes in Maryland jurisdictions
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to progress multiple projects simultaneously
Effective written and verbal communication skills for client and team collaboration
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment

Preferred

Experience with ArcGIS and Hydraflow Hydrographs, HydroCAD
Baltimore City experience
