Payroll Specialist

Responsibilities
Assist in managing the company’s health & wellness benefits, health savings plans, and 401(k) program
Manage employee leave of absence programs, ensuring compliance and supporting employees during their leave
Act as the primary point of contact for employees with any benefits-related questions or concerns
Maintain and ensure accuracy of all employee benefits, including billing, change reporting, enrollment, and review of Medical, Dental, 401K, and Life
Provide timely and accurate reporting and analysis regarding company benefits spending and usage
Assist the Manager of Compensation & Benefits to process employee wages, taxes, and deductions accurately and on time
Manage payroll records meticulously while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements
Assist with the design and management of various compensation programs to attract, retain, and motivate talent
Use both external and internal data to ensure our compensation and benefits programs remain competitive and align with market trends
Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to support broader HR and organizational initiatives
Help maintain accurate employee benefits records, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations
Qualification
Required
5+ years of payroll experience
Experience with payroll processing and payroll tax
Experience with computer systems: SAP, ADP, UKG, Ceridian
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
2-4 years of experience in HR, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, with exposure to compensation and benefits management
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced capabilities in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis)
Strong knowledge of employer benefit plans and compensation programs
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to managing projects
Preferred
Experience with processing payroll for 1000+ people
A personality that is proactive and not afraid to face challenges
Willingness to admit when unsure and seek solutions
