Civil Engineer (Transportation)
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a Civil Engineer (Transportation) to join their Engineering District 6-0 team within the Department of Transportation. The role involves managing highway design projects, preparing and reviewing plans for various highway initiatives, and addressing complex environmental and economic considerations.

Responsibilities
Engage in a comprehensive array of highway design services for projects of varying complexity
Preparing and reviewing complete sets of plans for highway initiatives
Which may encompass roadway reconstruction, realignment, drainage systems, guide rail installation, traffic control measures, and erosion and sediment pollution management
Preparing or reviewing segments of the most intricate projects that involve challenging environmental, economic, and right-of-way considerations
Qualification
Required
Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists
Successful completion of the Civil Engineer Trainee training program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
Four years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and an engineer-in-training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists, and an associate's degree in civil engineering technology or a closely related engineering discipline
One year of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline
PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title
