Responsibilities

Coordinates material requirements, maintains good housekeeping practices and records on all assigned equipment

Maintains and formats computer-controlled equipment within facilities systems (e.g. fire alarms, elevators, cranes, lathes, welding machines, etc.)

Works with engineering personnel to devise modification plans; works from detailed prints, schematics and drawings and verbal or written instructions; tests and analyzes data to effect proper maintenance to low voltage systems including: DC drive and variable speed (or frequency) drive motor controllers, UPS systems and related components, fire protection systems (fire alarms and fire suppression) electronic lock and security systems, elevators systems (traction and hydraulic), lifting device systems (derricks, cranes, hoists, etc.) and other PLC driven systems

In addition to these duties this job will entail the full scope of the Electrician classification

Required

High school graduate or GED equivalent

Must be pre-screened and approved by the Electronic Control Review Committee to ensure successful completion of an electronics vocational program, electronics military school or electronics apprenticeship program and minimum of 5 years directly related electronics experience may be substituted for educational requirements plus minimum of 4 years' experience in industrial electricity

One of the following may be substituted for experience in industrial electricity: A 4-year electrical apprenticeship program or a 2-year electrical apprenticeship program and an additional 2 years' experience in industrial electricity

Must be certified in accordance with SSC standards

Must be a U.S. Citizen in order to obtain required NASA badge

Must be able to provide a certified Birth Certificate (with state seal), Passport, or INS Citizenship documents on date of hire (candidate will be sent home if this paperwork is not provided upon arrival on date of hire)

Must have the ability to communicate the English language, both verbally and written, in an effective manner

Must have, and maintain, a valid Real ID driver's license

Must be able to pass a Pre-Employment background check and drug screen test
