Responsibilities

Document Management: Scan, file, and maintain technical prints in the company database
Drawing Creation: Convert hand-drawn sketches into professional technical prints
Measurement & Accuracy: Measure simple parts and produce prints with tolerances up to ±0.001"
3D Modeling: Redraw existing prints into solid 3D models and generate prints from those models
Software Proficiency: Utilize SolidWorks (3D parts) and DraftSight (2D drawings) to create and edit designs
Organization: Maintain and organize the print room to ensure accessibility and efficiency
Print Production: Prepare and print technical drawings required for ongoing projects
Professional Training: Apply prior drafting education and training to ensure industry-standard practices

Required

Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program majoring in Draft Engineering
Minimum 3.0 GPA
Willing and able to work on-site at our Shalmet, PA location
Applicants MUST be US Citizens or Green Card Holders due to Carpenter's government contracts
Experienced with Auto-Cad, SolidWorks for 3D models, Document Management, DraftSight for 2D models
Formal training or education in drafting, mechanical design, or related field
Proficiency in SolidWorks and DraftSight (or equivalent CAD software)
Strong attention to detail and ability to work within tight tolerances
Organizational skills to manage documentation and physical print storage
Ability to interpret sketches, technical notes, and engineering requirements

Preferred

Prior experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment preferred
Ideal candidates will possess the following characteristics: strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with engineers and project managers
