The State of Maryland is seeking Tax Season employees to assist with the investigation, correction, and processing of tax returns and other tax processing work. These positions will be available during the Tax Filing Season and will require full-time work in the Annapolis office.

Required

Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate

For education obtained outside of the U.S., you will be required to provide proof of the equivalent American education as determined by a foreign credential evaluation service

Must be willing and able to work in the Annapolis office in a full-time capacity

Upon appointment (new hires and/or transfers) must successfully undergo fingerprinting

Disqualifying charges may include any felony; any crime of moral turpitude, e.g. embezzlement, fraud, tax evasion or bribery; any crime of identity theft or impersonation; any crime of assault or battery; and any crime relating to the use or distribution of a controlled dangerous substance other than marijuana, regardless of the age of the offense or the specifications of the position

Benefits

Leave may be granted to a temporary employee who has worked 120 days in a 12 month period. This leave accrues at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.
