Responsibilities

Represent owner in monitoring construction activities for compliance with plans and specifications
Perform and/or oversee onsite construction materials testing
Coordinate and communicate field construction activities with contractor and designers
Assist engineers/designers with developing plans and specifications, including cost estimates, quantities and constructability reviews

Qualification

IDOT Construction Technician certificationsConstruction materials testingCADD MicroStationCADD Civil 3DConstruction observationIllinois Department of Transportation experienceInterpersonal communicationTeamworkSelf-motivated

Required

High School Diploma/equivalent
IDOT Documentation of Contract Quantities and experience with IDOT's Construction and Materials Management System (CMMS) or obtain certification within 5 months
IDOT QMTP 3-day Aggregate, PCC Level I and II, HMA Level I and II, or ability to attain within 5 months
A minimum of 8 years of construction observation, construction materials testing, related education/formal training
Current driver's license

Preferred

Experience with CADD (MicroStation or Civil 3D)
Experience working on airport and other civil construction projects
Illinois Department of Transportation project experience and familiarity with the respective agency documentation and material testing certifications
Ability to provide constructability reviews, quantity takeoffs, shop drawing reviews, and CADD drafting support for design projects
