Responsibilities
Gain firsthand experience in how water utilities support communities and ensure sustainability
Collaborate with a team of engineers to develop water supply plans, asset management plans, and support various engineering and construction projects for the company’s water and wastewater systems
Provide engineering support to both engineers and operational staff
Work with Senior Engineers in the Project Delivery Team and assist with the delivery of water / wastewater capital investment projects. This includes design, permitting, construction and startup
Projects could include new or upgraded water storage tanks, pump stations, pipelines, and water / wastewater treatment plants
Work with Senior Engineers in the Planning Team and assist them with completing engineering tasks such as building/calibration hydraulic modeling for a water distribution system, demand projections, asset condition and performance assessments, and preparing planning reports and recommendations
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in an Engineering undergraduate degree program
Valid Driver's License
Ability to pass a background check
Detail-Oriented: Conduct thorough analyses and evaluations and implement timely decisions and recommendations
Independent Worker: Manage time across multiple projects and deadlines
Collaborative: Seek input and coordinate with staff
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills
Technical Proficiency: Good working knowledge of computer programs, databases, and software
Organizational Skills: Demonstrated organizational and administrative abilities
Analytical Skills: Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred
Civil or Mechanical Engineering preferred
Previous experience with AutoCAD, ArcGIS, or WaterGEMS is a plus
