The City of Sioux Falls is hiring an Ascend Intern for Sports Turf Management. In this internship, you will learn all aspects of turf management and lead the maintenance of grounds at an athletic complex, including tasks such as water management, mowing, and fertilizer applications.

Responsibilities

Learn all aspects of turf management at Sherman Park or Harmodon Park

Lead all aspects of maintaining grounds at an athletic complex

Responsible for weekly water management, mowing schedule and mowing, fertilizer applications, overseeding applications, and aeration

Diagnose irrigation issues and perform repairs

Attend and participate in project management, event coordination, and stake holder relationship functions

Required

Students enrolled in a Turf Management, Sports Management, or Parks and Recreation related curriculum, as a full-time student at a college, university, or vocational technical school

Ability to work as a team member and collaborate effectively with others

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Must be able to work a 40-hour flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays
