Industrial Engineering Intern
Scot Forge Company is looking to hire three Industrial Engineering (Operations Management) Interns for the Summer of 2026 at their corporate facility. This intern will support the operations team through daily tasks and projects, focusing on continuous improvement initiatives and enhancing productivity on the manufacturing floor.

Responsibilities
Collaborating with the Plant Management and Supervisors on identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives throughout the manufacturing floor
Participate in and support shop floor projects focused on enhancing productivity, reducing waste, and optimizing processes
Join daily walks and meetings to observe operations and help identify areas for improvement
Assist in driving 5S activities, including organizing and participating in 5S events within the shop
Support Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Daily Control Meeting (DCM) activities to help maintain equipment reliability and operational efficiency
Help track and act on identified action items to support operational goals
Assist in conducting root cause analysis to identify and resolve issues affecting quality and productivity
Support compliance with safety regulations and standards
Qualification
Required
Minimum Sophomore standing in pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field
Independent worker with strong self-management and problem-solving skills, who can demonstrate learning agility in Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and Process Optimization initiatives
Knowledge of SolidWorks or other CAD/CAM software
Experience using Microsoft Office applications
Must be authorized to work anywhere in the U.S. without sponsorship
Must be able to pass a 90 day head hair drug test today
Preferred
Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques, including 5S and Kaizen, preferred
Certifications in Lean Manufacturing Techniques, Project Management, Root Cause Analysis, and/or Safety Compliance
Effective collaborator with strong communication skills
Knowledge of a wide variety of manufacturing processes
Previous exposure to CNC machining or machinery
Geometrical Tolerance specification/application knowledge
