Responsibilities

Support development and optimization of engineered particle inhaled dosage forms

Perform physiochemical property characterization of drug product intermediates

Support batch manufacture for development, pre-clinical studies

Design, execute, and interpret experiments to support formulation and process development, with supervision

Document, compile, review, and present data

Handle hazardous materials and chemicals in accordance with MannKind’s safety policies and procedures

Operate and maintain laboratory equipment

Comply with good laboratory practice including maintenance of laboratory notebooks and written procedures

Observe all Company, Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines

Required

Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, or Pharmaceutical Engineering, preferably within 1-2 years of graduation

Strong foundation in science and engineering principles

Strong oral and written communication skills

Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment

Fluency in MS Office software

Demonstrates eagerness to learn new techniques and procedures

Accuracy in following instructions, generating data, and documenting data and procedures

Full-time commitment, Monday to Friday, onsite

Location: Bedford, MA 01730

Fall 2026: July 8 - December 18, 2026

A reliable commute or the intention to find temporary housing before starting the Co-op is required

At this time, we are only able to consider candidates who do not require visa sponsorship, including those with a student visa

Preferred

Prior experience within life sciences, pharmaceuticals, or biotech industries

You possess superior time management and organizational skills

Experience with general laboratory procedures is a plus

You have an intrinsic motivation to continually improve and optimize processes

You take the initiative to identify opportunities for improvement and act on them without needing constant direction

You are open to constructive criticism and use it to improve performance and grow professionally
