Temporary Senior Desktop Support Specialist

As a Temporary Senior Desktop Support Specialist, you will ensure seamless technology experiences across office and laboratory environments, acting as the primary escalation point for Level 1 technicians and maintaining uptime for specialized laboratory IT systems.

Responsibilities
Provide Level 2 desktop and endpoint support for Windows environment
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and OS-level issues both proactively and reactively
Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware, software, and connectivity issues for office endpoints and specialized laboratory IT systems (e.g., instrument PCs, data acquisition, and lab automation software)
Administer and support Microsoft 365 (O365), including user provisioning, licensing, email troubleshooting, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint basics
Manage and support MDM solutions (e.g., Intune or equivalent) for laptops, mobile devices, and security compliance
Administer and support Box for file storage, permissions, access control, and user issues
Track, document, and resolve incidents and service requests using an ITSM system (e.g., Jira Service Management, ServiceNow, Freshservice, etc.)
Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including device setup, access provisioning, and asset tracking
Provide onsite support for meetings, AV setups, and day-to-day office IT needs
Act as a trusted IT presence for onsite employees, balancing urgency with quality service
Qualification
Required
3+ years of experience in Desktop Support or IT Support with demonstrated experience resolving Level 2 requests
Strong hands-on experience administering Microsoft O365
Demonstrated expertise with MDM platforms (Intune or similar)
Advanced troubleshooting experience with Windows 11
Experience administering Box (user access, permissions, troubleshooting)
Working knowledge of ITSM systems to track incidents, requests, and changes
Strong customer service mindset with excellent communication skills
Ability to work independently in an onsite environment and manage multiple priorities
Experience supporting and administrating video conferencing platform such as Zoom & MS Teams
Preferred
Experience supporting bioscience or laboratory systems (lab instruments, research applications, or regulated environments)
Knowledge of Okta Workflows or similar automation tools (e.g., Power Automate, identity lifecycle automation)
Experience supporting AV events, conference rooms, or executive presentations
Familiarity with identity and access management (IAM) concepts and SSO environments
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, kneel and walk between suites (may include stairs)
This is an onsite role. This role may require regular visits to our Brisbane, CA location depending on support needs
