Covenant Health is a leading healthcare provider in western Montana, and they are seeking a Trauma Clinical Data Analyst Specialist. This role involves reviewing hospital records to collect and verify data on trauma patients, coding injuries and procedures, and entering data into the State Trauma system.

Responsibilities

Reviews hospital records to locate all trauma activated patients and those injured patients not activated in the ED that meet State collection criteria

Collects comprehensive, accurate data relating to trauma patients by abstracting all trajectories of care

Verify & update all information compiled & enter data into the State Trauma system in a concurrent manner

Performs coding of injuries, procedures & causes of injuries using standard medical record references, specifically International Classification of Diseases (ICD), Tenth Revision codes

Assign diagnoses Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) & ICD-10CM (Clinical Modification) codes & complete Injury Severity Scale (ISS) & other calculations for an average of seventeen (15) records per week
