Assistant Vice President for System Brand Marketing
Washington State University is seeking an Assistant Vice President for System Brand Marketing to serve as the senior brand and marketing strategist for the WSU system. The role involves leading enterprise-level brand marketing strategy, creative direction, and integrated campaign execution to enhance the university’s visibility and engagement.

Responsibilities
Serve as the senior brand and marketing strategist for the WSU system
Responsible for advancing WSU’s reputation, visibility, and engagement across Washington and beyond
Lead enterprise-level brand marketing strategy, creative direction, and integrated campaign execution
Provide leadership for brand management, creative services, digital marketing, and market research
Ensure that all expressions of the WSU brand are consistent, contemporary, and compelling
Collaborate closely with partners across Enrollment Management, Advancement, Athletics, and academic units to position WSU as a national leader among modern land-grant institutions
Qualification
Required
A Bachelor's degree in a related field and eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in the appropriate administrative/professional area. A Master's degree in a relevant field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. A Juris Doctor degree may be required for selected positions. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year‐for‐year basis
A minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in brand marketing or strategic communications, including at least 3 years in a leadership role
Proven ability to develop and execute integrated marketing strategies in large, complex organizations
Demonstrated success in leading creative teams and managing agency relationships
Strong analytical and strategic-thinking skills with a deep understanding of digital marketing and data-driven decision-making
Excellent writing, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
Preferred
A Master's degree in marketing, communications, or business
Experiences in higher education or a mission-driven organization with a multi-campus structure
Knowledge of Washington State University's land-grant mission and statewide impact
Expertise in market research, brand positioning, and digital transformation initiatives
